Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and what we never share.

Draft — requires review by qualified Indian legal counsel before launch. This is not legal advice.

Last updated 10 सितंबर 2026 · This policy is maintained in English. Translations are provided for convenience.

The short version

  • We collect what a delivery needs and not more.
  • We never show another user your phone number, your email, your ID documents or your exact address.
  • We never sell your personal data.
  • You can ask for your data, or ask us to delete your account.

What we collect

  • Account: your name, mobile number, and email if you give one.
  • Verification: identity checks are performed by a licensed verification partner. CarriBag receives the result — verified or not — and does not display your documents to other users.
  • Trips and items: cities, dates, travel method, what you are sending, item photos.
  • Handover records: pickup and delivery codes, times, and any seal number, kept as the record of what happened.
  • Payments: handled by a licensed payment provider. Card and UPI credentials are entered on the provider’s screen, not ours, and we do not store them.
  • Location: only if you turn it on, only while a delivery is in progress, and only for that delivery.
  • Device and usage data needed to keep the service running and to detect abuse.

What other users see

A traveller’s public profile shows a given name and last initial, a verified badge if the check has passed, the number of completed trips, and a rating only once real ratings exist.

  • Never shown: full name, phone number, email, home address, ticket or PNR, ID documents.
  • Pickup and delivery areas are shown before a match. Exact addresses appear only after both people have agreed.
  • Messages go through in-app chat so nobody has to hand over a phone number.

Why we keep it

To run the service, to settle payments, to investigate a dispute, to meet legal obligations, and to keep people safe. Handover records exist so that if something goes wrong there is a record rather than two conflicting memories.

How long we keep it

Delivery records are kept while they may be needed for a dispute, a refund, or a legal obligation, then deleted. Exact retention periods will be published here after review.

Your choices

  • Ask for a copy of your data.
  • Correct anything wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your account. Some records must be kept where the law requires it.
  • Turn location and notifications off at any time; we only ask for them at the moment they are needed.
